REFUND POLICY: 1. No refund if brackets have been posted. 2. If brackets have not been posted and: a. you call 15 business days before the tournament start date, a full refund will be given minus a $50 processing fee b. if you call 10 to 14 business days before, 50 percent of your fee will be returned c. if you call 9 or fewer business days before, no refund will be given. WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: 1. If the tournament is completely cancelled, please be aware that $50 of your entry fee will be kept for administrative costs. 2. If the tournament is completely cancelled, you can transfer the FULL amount to another Triple Crown Event. 3. If one game is played, you will receive half of your entry fee back. 4. If 2 games are played, you will not receive any of your entry fee back. Age Groups: Triple Crown reserves the right to combine divisions. (Example: 14u B with 14u A to make an “open” division.) This decision will be based on the number of teams that enter into each bracket. TRIPLE CROWN QUALFYING: 1. Each individual tournament or series will offer different qualifying berths. Teams should pay attention to the number of berths given out at each tournament. 2. Qualified teams are allowed to play in additional Triple Crown events. If a qualified team receives an additional berth, it will be passed down to the next team that this team beat in the bracket. A team that has not won a game in bracket play, will not be given a pass-down berth. 3. 1st and 2nd place teams in each age group from the World Series, do not have to re-qualify for the World Series the following year. This qualification stays with the manager of record. This automatic berth moves with the team if they move up and age division, as long as they have 5 returning players. WORLD SERIES PAYMENT: Qualifying Teams have 72 hours from completion of the qualifying tournament to pay for their spot in the World Series. If payment is after 72 hours, entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. After all spots are full for Park City (UT), the remaining tournament berths will qualify teams for other available Championship events. If you pay for your slot in the World Series and decide you will not be attending, you will forfeit your entry fee after June 1. Special Start Requests: Before entering a tournament, make sure your team has no other conflicts on listed tournament dates. Triple Crown can not accommodate any special game time requests! Teams need to be prepared to play at *8:00am* on the FIRST DAY of the tournament. Tournament Scheduling: Teams may be required to play 3 or more games in a day to accommodate the overall number of teams in the tournament. Reserve Spot: Your team will not be confirmed into any tournament until full payment is received. Rosters: May never exceed 20 players during the tournament series and Triple Crown World Series. If you have players quit or transfer to a different team, they remain frozen spots on your roster. Example: If your roster has 13 players at your first tournament, you then have 7 spots left to fill throughout the remainder of the qualifying season and before the Triple Crown World Series in Park City, UT. At any given time, a player may only appear on one Triple Crown roster, regardless of age division. Before a player can be added to a second roster, that player must be released by his/her original manager; a player may only transfer one time during the season and may not transfer back to his/her original team. BEFORE YOUR FIRST TOURNAMENT: Please create your roster on this site, print the roster, get a signature from each player's parent or guardian, and bring the completed roster to the tournament. Any player without an authorized signature on the roster has no Triple Crown rights and assumes full personal liability for any action at a Triple Crown sponsored event. A team must only roster once per season; Triple Crown will keep your roster on file for future tournaments in the same season. TRANSFERS: Player transfers are allowed if the original manager completes the "Player Release Form" and the form is submitted to a Triple Crown Representative at the time of the transfer. Call 970-223-6644 to request a copy of the Player Release Form. PICK UP PLAYERS: You are allowed 3 pick-up players, once you are qualified for the World Series, IF you have sufficient roster spaces available on your roster. These pick-up players are to be added to the addition roster by the deadline listed on the Championship site. NOTE: Triple Crown Sports reserves the right to review individual situations and make final decisions on roster rules. Triple Crown Sports also reserves the right to review player transfers and issue decisions on roster moves. Game Times and Field Assignments: Will be given out on the Wednesday prior to the tournament after 10am Mountain Time. You may get schedule information by clicking on Game Times on this tournament's main page. Rules: Please be aware of the time limit restrictions, innings played, run rules, and pitching limitations (see Triple Crown Rules). Birth Certificates or Proof of Age: Copies of birth certificates or proof of age (e.g., driver's license) will need to be with you at all times. If a protest arises and you can not produce age proof, you will lose the protest (penalties |

Tournament Rules
| >TRIPLE CROWN GIRLS FASTPITCH TOURNAMENT RULES The Triple Crown Girls Fastpitch World Series, Triple Crown Winter Championship and the Triple Crown Series in California and most of Colorado including the Mountain Magic (Steamboat Springs, CO, in June) tournaments are non-sanctioned events, but are played using ASA rules and umpire mechanics plus Triple Crown Specialty Rules. Other tournaments played within the Triple Crown tournament use ASA, USSSA, AFA, or other governing body rules according to local preference. In all cases, it is recommended that the Triple Crown Specialty Rules be used to make the tournaments as uniform as possible and to bring them in line with what the teams will be playing when they attend the World Series. TRIPLE CROWN SPECIALTY RULES 1. All rule interpretations will go back to the intent of the rule as written by the governing body's rules being used. 1a. Any coach or player ejected from a game will be required to set for the next game. 2. OPTION 1: **You want to bat nine players- -Those nine can play any position on defense without reporting to the umpire. -Those nine can NOT change order in the batting order even though they may be playing different positions each inning. OPTION 2: **Use of DP/Flex–10 players are listed on the line-up, but only 9 bat. The DP can bat for any player that you designate prior to the start of the game and this player is designated as the Flex, playing defense only. Any of the 10 players, including the DP can play on defense. The DP and the Flex can play defense at the same time. When the DP plays defense, any other of the nine "batting" players may be removed from the defense, but is not considered to have left the game. If the Flex is removed from the defense, the Flex is considered to have left the game. DP is batting for the pitcher (Flex) and as the game goes on, all available subs have been used. In the 5th inning, the SS is not ready to go out onto the field - she has to visit the restroom. So, the coach sends the DP out to play SS. This is not a substitution, it is merely a "defensive" position swap. The DP is now handling the defensive function of the SS and is handling the offensive function of the pitcher. Next inning, the SS is back & ready to take the field, but the LF now has to go to the restroom. Now, the DP is going to play LF defensively - just like at SS the earlier inning. All this time, the DP is still the DP, the pitcher is still the pitcher, the SS is still the SS, and LF is still the LF. There have been no lineup additions, just defensive position changes. The DP is like any other starter, there are no limits as to the number of innings or positions played on defense. The only limitation is that if the DP plays defense for the Flex, the Flex is out of the game. But that's OK, as the Flex is also a starter and can re-enter one time. Just like if the Flex bats or runs for the DP, the DP is out of the game and can also re-enter one time. The Flex is a starter and may re-enter. If you do this, the lineup goes from 10 to 9 (original change) and now back to 10 - with the re-entry of the Flex. If/when this happens, the Flex is still the Flex and the DP has remained the DP all along. You may also decide later that the Flex should bat or run for the DP with the DP now leaving the game. Lineup goes from 10 to 9 (original change) to 10(Flex re-entry) to 9. And the DP is also a starter & may re-enter at a later time. So here we see the lineup going from 10 to 9 to 10 to 9 & back to 10. This is just 1 example of the flexibility/versatility of the DP/Flex positions. OPTION 3: **Use of the EP/EH (Extra hitter or Extra player). This basically gives you the ability to hit 10 and any 9 of those 10 can play defensive. You do NOT have to list the EP/EH at the bottom of the line-up. This player can be placed anywhere in the line-up. –One inning you can sit your SS and the next inning you can set you LF as long as the line-up doesn’t change you don’t have to report the defensive changes--see above. –If you use this option, and you have no subs, and if a player were to get hurt, you’d be forced to take an out every time that player came up to bat. OPTION 4: **Use of the DP/Flex with the addition of the EP/EH. This allows you to have 11 players in the ball game. You are batting 10 and you have one player designated as the Flex. 3. Game times will normally allow for a 15 minute cushion between games to allow for team movement and long games. Time limits do apply to Championship and "if" games and normally will allow 10 more minutes than posted time limit. Run Rule will still be in effect. Game times start with the flip of the coin. 4. Run rule will be as listed by the Governing body in the rules being used whether the tournament is sanctioned or not. 5. Pitchers will be allowed to pitch in accordance with the ASA or the National High School Federation pitching rules. 6. The first team listed on the bracket in POOL PLAY will occupy the third base dugout unless the team already in the dugout is playing back to back. The team listed on top in DOUBLE or SINGLE ELIMINATION play will occupy the third base dugout unless the team already in the dugout is playing back to back. 7. A coin flip will determine HOME TEAM for all games, including Championship and "if" games. 8. Triple Crown tie breaker rule is as follows: In POOL PLAY, if at the end of seven (7) innings the game is tied and time has not expired, the next inning starts with a runner (the batter scheduled to bat last in the respective half-inning) at second base. If the game is still tied at the beginning of the next inning, the runner (last batter scheduled) will be placed at third base. If the game is still tied after TWO extra innings, the game will be recorded as a tie. However, if time expires during any pool game, the inning in progress will be completed and the game is over. Any pool game can end in a tie. -In all games, if the home team is ahead and up to bat when time expires, the game is over and the inning will not be finished. After POOL PLAY, the same tie breaker rules will apply, except that games cannot end in a tie. 9. No team coach, player or substitute shall be outside the dugout area and shall not have contact with anyone watching the game from behind the back stop. No rule keeps a person from working behind the backstop with a radar gun as long as no communication is occurring with this person and the coach/dugout area during the game. --Artifical noise makers are not allowed by use of fans, players, or coaches. Failure to comply will result in removal from the park and or forfeiture of the game. 10. Protests will be handled as follows: All protests will be accompanied by the $100 in cash before the protest will be discussed and ruled on. All protests must be made immediately at the time of the play or ruling in question. All legal protests will be ruled on by the protest committee before play continues. Once the next pitch is pitched, no protests of the incident are allowed and the game continues. No roster protests will be accepted after all teams are checked in and ready to play. 11. Ball: WORLD SERIES: Triple Crown Sports will provide all balls for the World Series tournament. This will be a high end seam fast pitch approved ball (Dudley or comparable). No team inserted balls will be allowed. A pitcher may not wait for a fouled ball to be returned. The pitcher may ask for the ball once it has been returned to the umpire. LOCAL EVENTS: Teams will provide one new and one used per game. Any ASA approved fast pitch ball of their preference. Teams may pick-up their balls from the umpire after the game and keep them with them. TRIPLE CROWN ROSTER 1. Once your entry is received you may retrieve an official Triple Crown Youth Sports Roster from the web site or have one mailed to you from Triple Crown. Fill it out completely and bring it to the tournament director before your first game. A. Copies of birth certificates will be shown for each player and checked off the roster. B. You are allowed a total of 20 players for the season. Once a player is signed on the roster they are on the roster. C. You will turn in a completed roster for every tournament that you play in. This can be copies of your original roster with any additions noted on the roster. D. A player may only play on one Triple Crown roster for the season. Once on a roster, a player may leave, if in good standing, and sign and play with another team. Player may not return to the original team. DD. A player can only play on one roster during the World Series. Even though certain divisions are on seperate weekends, it is considered to be the same tournament. E. The overall intent is to play all players that want to play, and all avenues will be explored to accomplish this goal. F. You are allowed 3 pick-up players, once you are qualified for the World Series if you have sufficient roster spaces available on your roster. These pick-up players are to be added to the addition roster by the deadline listed on the Championship site. TRIPLE CROWN QUALIFYING BERTHS 1. 1st and 2nd place teams in each age group from the World Series do not have to re-qualify, but have automatic berths. These teams are welcome to play any Triple Crown tournament(s) at any time throughout the season. This qualification certification stays with the manager of record for the upcoming season. This automatic berth will move with a team if they move up in age group as long as they have 5 returning players from the 1st/2nd place World Series Roster. 2. Each individual tournament or series will offer different qualifying berths and teams need to pay attention to the number of berths given out at each tournament. 3. Qualified teams are allowed to play additional Triple Crown tournaments. If a qualified team receives an additional berth, it will be passed to the next team that this team beat in the bracket. A team that has not won a game in bracket play will not be allowed to accept a pass-down berth. Qualified teams need to pay attention to the point systems in Arizona. (Additional tournaments are necessary to compete for state champion points in these areas--check with AZ director). 10 AND UNDER RULES: ASA Rules for 10U will apply plus the following Triple Crown Special Rules: 1. Teams may only score 6 runs per inning, in Pool Play. 2. There will be no "Infield Fly" rule. 3. Runners on first and/or second may steal one base per pitch with liability to be put out. 4. A batter may not advance to first base on a third strike dropped by the catcher. 5. The batter may not advance to second base on a walk. The batter must stay at first base. 6. A runner may not steal home. There are 3 ways that a runner can score from 3rd base. A. A result from a batter hitting the ball B. Being forced home by a walk to the batter with the bases loaded C. Awarded home by a ball out of play i. If the catcher attempts to make a play at third and the ball is deflected or goes out of the field of play then the runner will be awarded home D. If a catcher attempts to pick off the runner at third and the ball goes to the outfield or the ball stays in the field of play then the runner must stay at 3rd. 7. Pitching will be at 35' with bases at 60' 8. All other rules, game times, run rules, etc. are the same as the 12U-18U divisions REFUND POLICY: 1. 4. If 2 games are played, you will not receive any of your entry fee back | |
