PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATED INFORMATION
Triple Crown Baseball Divisions of Play: When offered we have three different divisions of play. Our top competitive level is our regular division, which you will see listed simply as 9u, 10u, and so on. This division includes “Select” teams and is open to any team that wants to compete at that level. Many of these teams are made up of the best players in a city or county. This is our most competitive division and, frankly, the one we hope most teams will choose to enter. Players get better when they are challenged by top competition!
Division 2 - When you see Division 2 (or D2) after the age group, that indicates a bracket designed for teams that are not yet ready to compete with top teams. Examples of teams that enter this division include: teams that have players from one school or neighborhood, small town teams, or developmental teams that lack depth in pitching and hitting. Division 2 is similar to the second-tier divisions you see in national sanctioning organizations. However, even if you are sanctioned as a lower team by a national sanctioning body, that does not guarantee you will play Division 2 with Triple Crown. You need to call the tournament director for your Triple Crown event(s) so that person can help you find the best fit with us.
Division 2 is not designed to be a paved road to a Championship for teams – very good Baseball is played in Division 2. At the same time, we always err toward having teams “play up” in competition to make sure players are being challenged and having chances to improve their skills.
Division 3: When you see Division 3 (or D3) after the age group, that indicates a bracket designed for teams that are not yet ready to compete with travel teams. Examples of teams that enter this division include: Teams that are playing recreational or local league baseball and would like to play in one to three tournaments a year. These teams do not travel out of state and will not qualify to go on to any National Championship.
