History
2006 will start the 24th year of the Colorado Classic. The tournament is a combined effort of Triple Crown Sports and the Ft. Collins Buckaroos fastpitch organization. The tournament has been and still remains one of the premier tournaments in the State of Colorado. Has in the past and continues to attract some college coaches that scout teams, and also out-of-state teams that wish to play in Colorado.
In 2006, Triple Crown will continue to market this tournament as a great way to start a 10 day tournament swing through Colorado by playing in the Colorado Classic, one day rest on Monday or have some of the players participate in the NFCA recruiting camp on Monday, and then play in the 290+ team tournament, Triple Crown Sparkler which is just south of Ft. Collins//Loveland area about 45 minutes. The Triple Crown Sparkler is gradually emerging as one of the great tournaments in late June in Colorado. You could stay in a nice motel in between the two tournaments and drive back and forth.
