Hammon a handful for foes this season. New York has always been a perennial power in the East. The Liberty have one of the league's best coaches on their bench and four former all-stars on their roster. Becky Hammon comes off the bench to average 17 points, which ranks seventh in the league. But reserve guard Becky Hammon also deserves a nod for her part in keeping the Liberty in the limelight.

Becky Hammon just completed her 4th season in the WNBA with the NY Liberty. The Liberty once again advanced to the Finals of the WNBA Playoffs. Becky was the leading scorer in Game One of the WNBA Playoffs scoring 18 points. Becky is now enjoying her off-season. She has been making appearances on behalf of the WNBA and is enjoying time with family and friends. At this point, it looks like Becky will play in the NWBL (National Women's Basketball League). She most likely play for the Springfield Spirit or the new Knoxville franchise. Negotiations will continue on this subject. CSU Slam Dunk Newsletter, October 11, 2002
