Chill Get Ready to Close 2005 Home Schedule
Fan Appreciation Weekend With Chill

Wedneday, March 16, 2005
LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Chill of the National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) will end the 2005 home schedule this weekend, as well as host Fan Appreciation Weekend.

In addition to fan appreciation weekend the Chill will also be holding a canned food drive. Any fan that brings a non-perishable item, such as chili, soup, stew or cereal, will receive $1 off of a general admission ticket. The discount is good only on tickets bought at the door and for full-priced adult tickets. All canned food donations will benefit the Food Bank of Larimer County.

The Dallas Fury, who trails the Chill by just a game in the league standings, will be the first to visit Colorado. Tip-off for the Friday night battle with the Fury is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

In celebration of fan appreciation, the first 2,500 fans through the door on Friday night will receive a 2005 team poster. In addition to the poster the first 150 fans will receive a pair of Colorado Chill thundersitx.

Dallas currently holds a 2-1 game advantage over the Chill with both teams winning on its own court. With a win over Dallas on Friday night Colorado could clinch at least second place in the league standings, which will guarantee them a home playoff game. A loss would to the Fury would even the league standings, but Dallas would hold the tiebreaker by winning the season series.

If Colorado were to host a semifinal game, it would be played on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:05 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center.

Colorado was probably given their biggest test of the season when Dallas visited back on Jan. 27. Fury guard Anna DeForge, who trails Colorado's Becky Hammon by just one tenth of a point for the league scoring title, poured in 41 points in the game to help force overtime. Colorado would eventually walk away with a 99-92 overtime victory.

To round out the 2005 home schedule, Colorado will play host to the Birmingham Power on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. The game was moved from the originally scheduled start time of 6 p.m.

Fan appreciation weekend will continue on Sunday night with the first 2,500 fans receiving the team poster. Anheuser Busch will also give away limited addition bar glasses that bear the Chill and Bud Light logo. The first 900 fans to enter the arena will receive a coupon that can be redeemed immediately following the conclusion of the game.

Colorado holds a 2-1 season series lead over the Power. Birmingham enters the game with the Chill desperately needing a win. The Power currently sit 2.5 games back of the Chicago Blaze for the fourth and playoff berth.

Individual game tickets can be purchased online at www.comcasttix.com , by phone at 877-544-8499 or at the Budweiser Events Center Box Office.
