Fury Gives Chill Second Straight Blowout Loss
Colorado Has Just 1/2 Game Lead Over Dallas

CARROLLTON, Texas – The Colorado Chill suffered their second straight loss and largest loss in team history on Sunday night as they fell to the Dallas Fury 81-61.

The loss, not only dropped the Chill to 12-6 on the season, but it also narrowed the gap between Colorado and Dallas to just half a game. The win moved the defending NWBL champion Dallas Fury to 11-6 on the season.

Dallas jumped out to an 18-point lead at halftime, a half that was closed out on a running lay-in by Fury guard Maxann Reese.

In the first half Colorado shot just 32% from the field, compared to 46% by the Dallas Fury.

The Fury was led in the game by league scoring leader Anna DeForge. DeForge finished the game with 22 points and a game-best nine assists. DeForge took 20 shots in the game, connecting on just seven of them.

Also scoring in double-figures for the Fury was LaToya Turner, 19, and Joanne Aluka who finished with 12 points.

Becky Hammon, who poured in 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, led the Chill on the night. Hammon also recorded a double-double of the unwanted type by recording 10 turnovers in the game.

For the second game in a row the Chill committed at least 25 turnovers in the game, 15 of which came on steals by the Fury. On Friday night in Lubbock, Colorado committed 29 turnovers in the game.

Three other players managed to score in double-figures for the Chill in the game. Erin Scholz was right behind Hammon by scoring 13 points and pulling-down a game-high nine rebounds. Katie Cronin and Carrie Bacon also scored in double-digits with 12 and 11, respectively.

Bench play was big in the game for both teams, as the bench of Dallas poured in 20 points compared to just six points for the Chill.

Colorado will play one more road game against the Birmingham Power on March 11 before returning home for their final three home games of the season.

The first of the three games will take place on Sunday, March 13 when the Chicago Blaze and Tamika Catchings visit the Budweiser Events Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. MST.
