LOVELAND, Colo. – For the fourth time this season, Colorado and Chicago met one another, and for the fourth time this season the same result occurred.
The Chill defeated the Blaze by a final score of 90-74 to improve to 4-0 on the season. The win also improved Colorado to a perfect 15-0 all-time at the Budweiser Events Center.
The game started slow for both teams with both shooting under 40% in the first half. It was Colorado that came out hot in the second, outscoring Chicago by only six points, but as a team they connected on 7-of-10 three-point field goal attempts.
Becky Hammon led the team in scoring for the third time this season and the second consecutive game on Sunday with 22 points. Hammon was one of four players for Colorado to reach double-figures in the game. Katie Cronin scored 14 points, Ruth Riley finished with her fourth straight double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Jasai Ferrucho came off the bench to score ten points.
Chicago put three players in double-figures, but it wasn’t enough for the Blaze. Keisha Anderson led the Blaze with 22 points, followed by the 14 of Kim Williams and 12 from Ebony Hoffman.
Colorado will travel south to Birmingham, Ala. to take on the surprising Power on Tuesday evening with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m. MST. The Chill’s next home action will be on Thursday night, January 27, when the Dallas Fury visits the Budweiser Events Center at 7 p.m.
