LOVELAND, Colo. – With a 78-63 win over the visiting Chicago
Blaze, the Colorado Chill finished the season with a perfect 12-0
home record, and they also earned the top seed in next week’s
NWBL playoffs.
The Chill will take on the winner of the first
semifinal game that will feature the Chicago Blaze and the Birmingham
Power. This season the Chill holds a 6-2 overall record against
the two teams. Colorado's semifinal game is scheduled for Wedneday,
March 31 at 6 p.m. CST.
Colorado Chill center Jill Chapman-Daily
led the way for the Chill as she finished with 16 points on a
perfect 7-of-7 shooting from the floor. Chapman-Daily also pulled-down
a game-high 12 rebounds for Colorado, helping lead the Chill to
a 52-38 edge on the glass.
Three other players finished the night
in double-figures for Colorado; starters Katie Cronin and Maren
Walseth had 12 and 11 points respectively, while reserve Becky
Hammon scored 15 points off of the Chill bench.
The one bright
spot on the night for Chicago was starting guard Jamie Redd.
Redd finished the game with 20 points, including a 5-of-9 effort
from three-point range. As a team Chicago managed to shoot only
33% from the floor.
The NWBL is a six-team league that features
27 active WNBA players. Other teams in the league include the
Birmingham Power (Birmingham, Ala.); Springfield Spirit (Springfield,
Mass.); Dallas Fury (Dallas, Texas); Houston Stealth (Houston,
Texas); Colorado Chill (Ft. Collins, Colo.) and Chicago Blaze (Naperville,
Ill.).
