Age Cutoff Change -- Effective 8/12/05

Effective August 12, 2005, Triple Crown Baseball will adopt the age cutoff change being implemented by most competitive baseball organizations. All Triple Crown Baseball tournaments scheduled for August 12, 2005 (or later), whether operated by the headquarters office in Fort Collins (CO) or operated by any franchise owner throughout the United States, will use the new age cutoff to determine player age eligibility.

New Age Cutoff to determine player eligibility: May 1 (effective August 12, 2005)

This change basically means that -- in comparison to the old cutoff date -- all players previously eligible for an age division will still be eligible plus players born in May, June, and July will now qualify for a "younger" age division than they did in the past. In accordance with existing Triple Crown policy, any player is welcome to "play up" in an older age division.

New Age Cutoff Example: To play in the 12u division, a player must be no older than 12 years old through April 30 of that rostering season. All Spring/Summer 2005 Triple Crown events, including (and concluding with) the 2005 World Series in Steamboat Springs and the 2005 Eastern Regionals in Myrtle Beach, will still use the August 1 cutoff date.

Triple Crown Baseball will continue to use the same pitching and base distance rules in 2006 as in previous seasons. At the conclusion of the 2006 season, we will review the impact of the new age cutoff rule on field dimensions.

Thank you for playing Triple Crown Baseball. We look forward to seeing you at the ballfield soon.
