 Triple Crown Baseball Tournament Series

For information on these events call 970-223-6644

It’s simple – great baseball, great destinations, great memories. Triple Crown Baseball offers consistent, predictable qualifying tournaments all over the United States and specializes in well-produced destination Championships featuring the country’s top teams.

One key element of Triple Crown’s success since the program was developed in 1995 is protection of the credibility of our qualifying system. Teams that compete in our Championship events earn access to Championships by qualifying at one of the Triple Crown tournaments held around the country.

Triple Crown Baseball Franchising:

Triple Crown Sports, unlike other baseball businesses, is a Franchised business opportunity. We have owner-operators in several states who hold the exclusive rights to run Triple Crown events:

Georgia -- Tony Von Dolteren

Kansas / Missouri -- Otis Miller

New York / Connecticut -- Grant Stanis

Southern California -- Conrad Topp

Arizona -- Tony Alba

Texas -- John Rathbun & Allen Chase

Western Colorado -- Dedee Sorensen

Great Lakes -- Joe Santilli

LA/MS/AL -- Matt Van Alsburg

If you would like information on owning a Triple Crown Baseball Franchise, please call Roland Rivera at 970-223-6644, x156.

Triple Crown Baseball Divisions of Play:

We have two different divisions of play. Our top competitive level is our regular division, which you will see listed simply as 9u, 10u, and so on. This division includes “Select” teams and is open to any team that wants to compete at that level. Many of these teams are made up of the best players in a city or county. This is our most competitive division and, frankly, the one we hope most teams will choose to enter. Players get better when they are challenged by top competition!

Division 2 - When you see Division 2 (or D2) after the age group, that indicates a bracket designed for teams that are not yet ready to compete with top teams. Examples of teams that enter this division include: teams that have players from one school or neighborhood, small town teams, or developmental teams that lack depth in pitching and hitting. Division 2 is similar to the second-tier divisions you see in national sanctioning organizations. However, even if you are sanctioned as a lower team by a national sanctioning body, that does not guarantee you will play Division 2 with Triple Crown. You need to call the tournament director for your Triple Crown event(s) so that person can help you find the best fit with us.

Division 2 is not designed to be a paved road to a Championship for weak teams – very good Baseball is played in Division 2. At the same time, we always encourage teams to “play up” in competition to make sure players are being challenged and having chances to improve their skills.

Triple Crown Baseball Championships

If you accomplish the goal of qualifying at a Triple Crown tournament, your team earns berths to our Championship events. Designed to create great Baseball opportunities in family-friendly locations, Triple Crown Championships have a national reputation for quality of play and quality of vacation experience.

Triple Crown World Series – Steamboat Springs (CO): Teams must qualify for this event (D1 and D2)!

Our pinnacle Championship, this tournament is at the end of the summer and is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Steamboat Springs is a small ski resort community that is beautiful in late July and August. The World Series has a national draw. Selected D1 Championship Games will be televised across the country.

Triple Crown Summer Nationals – Myrtle Beach (SC): Teams must qualify for this event!

As the popularity of this event has increased, we split the schedule into two weekends to accommodate more teams – some ages will play the first weekend, the remaining age groups will play the second weekend. This Championship consistently attracts top teams from the East Coast along with various representatives from around the country.

Triple Crown Spring Championships – Phoenix/Tucson (AZ): Open Entry, no berth required!

After several years as a regular qualifier, the Tucson tournament became a Spring Championship in 2003 and involved 93 teams. The event featured teams from Florida, Virginia, New York Illinois, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, California and Washington.

In 2005, we expanded to a 3-weekend format that tours through Spring Training sites in Phoenix (Session 1), Tucson (Session 2), and Phoenix (Session 3). With tie-ins to MLB Spring Training, this event is the perfect mix of competitive youth baseball and vacation. This tournament does qualify teams for our other Championship events during the same calendar year.

Triple Crown Fall Nationals – Las Vegas (NV): Teams must qualify for this event!

Launched in 2003, the Las Vegas Fall Nationals involved 97 teams in its first year. We now run a two-weekend format because the event has grown each year and consistently attracts over 130 teams. Comprised of teams ranging from the West Coast to the Rocky Mountain Region, Vegas Fall Nationals provides a great mix of competitive ball and family fun. The event is hosted by the City of Henderson and the fields are second to none.

Triple Crown Fall Nationals – St. Augustine (FL): Teams must qualify for this event!

One of Triple Crown’s original Championships, this event has grown to three exciting weekends of baseball, with over 200 teams in attendance. The St. Augustine Fall Nationals tournament is played in October in the oldest city in the United States. St. Augustine is a small coastal resort that offers a wide variety of activities, good dining, and great beaches. The St. Augustine Fall Nationals typically draws teams from East of the Mississippi. It is one of the most competitive events on the Eastern Seaboard.
